Badge Criteria

Verified Exceptional for Babies

Our highest award for family hotels. Not self-reported, not a paid placement. Here is exactly what a hotel must demonstrate to earn this badge.

What this badge tells you

When you see the "Verified Exceptional for Babies" badge on a hotel listing, it means we have independently verified that this property excels across every dimension that matters for families travelling with babies and toddlers. It is the strongest signal of quality in our index.

The 6 criteria

A hotel must meet all six to earn the badge. Missing even one means no badge.

1

Accepts babies from a young age

The hotel must accept babies from around 4-6 months in supervised childcare. Hotels that only offer kids clubs from age 3+ do not qualify.

2

Dedicated baby carers

Not just general childcare staff. The hotel must employ carers specifically trained and assigned to look after babies and toddlers.

3

Published staff ratios

The hotel publishes its staff-to-child ratios, demonstrating transparency and accountability in their childcare provision.

4

Sleep room availability

A separate sleep or nap room must be available within the creche or baby club, so babies can nap in a safe, quiet environment.

5

Genuinely baby-friendly facilities

Beyond childcare: baby pools, buggy-accessible paths, baby equipment provision, and thoughtful family amenities across the resort.

6

Consistently positive parent reviews

Real parents consistently praise the baby and toddler experience. We cross-reference reviews on TripAdvisor, Google, and niche family travel forums.

What the badge is not

  • Not a paid placement. Hotels cannot buy the badge.
  • Not self-reported. Hotels cannot nominate themselves.
  • Not based on a single feature. A great baby pool alone does not earn it.
  • Not permanent. Hotels can lose the badge if standards change.
  • Not influenced by affiliate relationships. Editorial independence is absolute.
